The author of A Little Something Different brings you the most adorkable romance ever.

Jane, a superstitious fangirl, takes an anonymous babysitting job to avoid an unpaid internship with her college-obsessed mom. The only problem? She’s babysitting the siblings of her childhood friend and new crush, Teo.

Teo doesn’t dislike Jane, but his best friend Ravi hates her, and is determined to keep them apart. So Teo’s pretty sure his plans for a peaceful summer are shot. His only hope is that his intermittent search for his birth father will finally pan out and he’ll find a new, less awkward home. Meanwhile, at Jane’s house, her sister Margo wants to come out as bisexual, but she’s terrified of how her parents will react.

In a summer filled with secrets and questions, even Jane’s Magic 8 ball can’t give them clear answers, but Signs Point to Yes.

Inside the Author’s Head

Welcome to the blog! I have to tell you that from the moment I picked up Signs Point to Yes, I knew it was going to be a great book. And I was NOT disappointed!

Can you first tell readers where the idea came from for it?   What kind of research did you have to do to prepare yourself to write it?

Signs Point to Yes really just came out of the idea that I wanted to write a summer romance. I wanted to write with a different feel than my first book A Little Something Different. It really grew out that. As for research, without giving too much away, I had to learn how you would go about finding your biological parent. I also peppered every lifeguard with questions about their job.

How did your studies and experiences in life help shape who you are as a writer?

I didn’t study writing in college or graduate school, but I do have a Master’s degree in library science. I’ve always loved books and I feel like being a lifelong reader has really shaped the kind of author I want to be.

Okay, so I always like to see what authors read. What are your top five favorite books and why?

Of all time?! This is so hard! Let’s see. Anne of Green Gables, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Giver, Eleanor & Park, and Summer Sisters. As for why, it’s always about characters for me and if they leave an impression on me I’m going to want to revisit them.

Night owl or early bird? How does it help with your writing process?

Early bird for sure. It helps by getting me up and out of bed. I love feeling like I accomplished a lot by 9 in the morning and then being able to relax with a cup tea and scroll the internet at my leisure before getting back to work later int eh day.

If you could live in one ‘book world’ which one would it be and why?

I feel like this is what everyone says, definitely Harry Potter. It would just be too cool to go to Hogwarts and learn to be a witch.

And finally, what other projects, if any, are you working on?

Right now there’s nothing official yet but I definitely have a new story that I’ve been working on. And of course, with National Novel Writing Month coming up, I’ve been doing a lot of planning.

Thank you for stopping by!
