It’s Top 10 Tuesday (hosted at The Broke the Bookish) the topic is:
Top Ten Literary Couples
This week’s topic is Top Ten Literary Couples. The topic could have been anything romance related, considering it is Valentine’s day, but we wanted to point out some of our favorite couples we’ve come across.
Top Ten Literary Couples
Tessa and Will
The Infernal Devices
Tessa and Will’s love will always be my most favorite. I don’t really think I need to say more, except their love is beautiful and beyond anything I’ve ever read. The way they are able to encapsulate and bring Jem into their love and there is never jealousy, just understanding.
Tod and Kaylee
The Soul Screamers Series
Watching these two fall in love was my most absolute favorite thing in the world. I can read these books over and over and just EVERY SINGLE TIME feel that magic. They make my heart happy even when it’s breaking.
Elisa and Hector
The Girl of Fire and Thorns series
Seriously, all I need to do is shout HECCCCTOR to someone who has read this series and they get it. Elisa is strong and brilliant and Hector just lets her shine. The two make each other better and their love is something that always brings me joy.
Ian and Wanda
This is another one of my favorite rereads and the biggest reason is watching these two fall in love. I always feel like SO many people are missing out on this book because it lies in the shadow of Twilight, but for me, it was just really wonderful.
Lilac and Tarver
These Broken Stars
These two are practically the only people in 85% of this book, but Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner found a way to make their love story complicated, complex, and totally worth it.
Malec | The Mortal Instruments series
When I first met Magnus Bane, I instantly gravitated toward him and became very protective over him. And it wasn’t until Alec began dating Magnus that I actually even liked him…and let’s be honest, I merely tolerated Alec because Mags was/is devastatingly in love with him.
Mia and Adam | If I Stay and Where She Went
There love made me cry buckets…BUCKETS! I tell you. And I was utterly shattered by the end of the book and even more so in the follow-up, but damn they make a perfect couple.
I wish we were granted more of, but I simply loved the foundation on which Remus and Tonks built their entire relationship on—in some ways, it mirrors Beauty and the Beast. But not only were they perfect together, I think in a lot of ways they saved each other, too.
Catherine and Heathcliff | Wuthering Heights
It’s a tragic love, really. But there is a wonderful beauty to their tragedy and their love. There is just something about this sorrowful love that always pulls me towards them; it’s hard to watch, but even harder to look away.
Gideon and Kyle | Been Here All Along
These are two characters that I wanted together the second that I met them. I don’t know why, I couldn’t really tell you BUT I just wanted them together so badly. So then, when it actually happened, my heart was so dang happy with love and then it crashed, burned, and broke because things…however, they have become one of my favorite LBGT couples that I have had the pleasure of meeting.
My first couple is a truly literary couple: Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorites. I can’t help but love this couple. Jane Austen is my Romantics period favorite thanks to this and Persuasion. Also, The artwork was by Viria, one of my favorite fan art artists.
This couple is from one of my all time favorite series: Vampire Academy. Rose and Dimitri have a romance that is like no other throughout that entire series. It’s amazing. Richelle Mead never fails to send my heart racing thanks to these two.
I adore this couple. Cath and Levi from Fangirl remind me so much of myself and my boyfriend in many ways. this image here is very familiar lol. They’re absolutely adorable and their story is such a fun one to read.
These two are simply precious. Cress and Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles are just too cute for words. They’re my favorite aspect of that entire series.
Last but not least, Rhys and Feyre. If you know them you’ll know what book they’re from. Don’t want to give out spoilers or anything. I told Jess she could do them if she wanted to, but I figured doubling up on this couple would be allowed if she got it done. Artwork by the amazing Charlie Bowater.
