The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around— and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he's been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance to lose his dream forever.

What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving?

The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries—including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo's dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? and if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?

In this sweeping and breathtaking new novel by National Book Award finalist Laini Taylor, author of the New York Times bestselling Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy, the shadow of the past is as real as the ghosts who haunt the citadel of murdered gods. Fall into a mythical world of dread and wonder, moths and nightmares, love and carnage.

Welcome to Weep.

Waiting on Wednesday

Why We’re Waiting

Jess

Daughter of Smoke and Bone was something I came into VERY late in the game (I read last summer), but I was blown away by the uniqueness of the world Laini Taylor created. I love the fact that the synopsis just drew me into this book like a moth to a flame. I mean, how can you not want to read something that starts off with this description:

“The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around.”

Yeah, I’m totally in.  Also, I feel like I’ve been waiting on this book FOREVER, so hurry up end of the month!

Aleya

I loved Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. It was breathtaking and amazing. This book sounds like it’s going to have the same mystical appeal. I wanted to read this the moment I heard about it. She’s such an incredible writer and she writes fantasy SO well. I love the way she weaves stories. I can’t wait to see what she does with Lazlo Strange (awesome name too). I love the tidbit that he’s a junior-librarian. Woo! Spread the librarian love! I hope this is going to be the start of another great series. The synopsis makes it sound like such an interesting read. I also love how long her books are! This is the first in the series and has a nice 544 pages. The testament to a great world building is lots of pages. Two of my favorite series are definitely indicators of that (Name of the Wind and Game of Thrones). Bring on the mythical wonder of Taylor’s newest world!

So, what book are YOU waiting for this week?
